2/5 - Queenstown; Aukland; Sydney
Friday was a travel day for us, flying from Queenstown to Sydney via Aukland.
Sunrise in Queenstown was brilliant, reinforcing just how beautiful New Zealand
can be. The low angle of the sun provided deep contrast, and the snow capped
mountains counterpointed the lake. Once we got into the air, however, the
overcast obscured our final view of New Zealand.
After paying the $25NZ per person New Zealand exit tax at the Aukland airport,
we boarded our Air New Zealand flight for an uneventful trip to Sydney.
A van took us from the airport to our hotel in Sydney (the Sydney
Harbor Marriott) situated on the water at Circular Quay (pronounce key).
