Delft, The Netherlands

Using our newly purchased GPS, we were able to find the way to our first destination, Delft, in the Netherlands. We stayed at the Westcord Hotel, which was within walking distance of all the places we wanted to see. After our arrival in the afternoon, we decide to walk into town.

We used the Wikitravel Guide to Delft to pick the Café de V restaurant for the evening meal. It lived up to its billing as offering high quality at a moderate price.

The next day was rainy, but we were inside visiting the Royal Delft pottery factory. We could have walked, but it was rainy. The GPS, while providing correct information, didn't keep us from missing turns and seeing some of the less picturesque parts of Delft, but we eventually found our way. Here are some of the pictures from the factory.

After our visit to the pottery factory, we drove back to the hotel and then walked over the Science Center of the Technical University of Delft. Although, uncharacteristically, everything was in Dutch, there was a nice combination of interesting displays and hands-on activities.

After the science museum, we walked back to our hotel. Where we were not allowed to use the lunch menu and were forced to overpay for average food.
