I love rock/hill climbing, mostly sans any equipment (barefoot,
bare-handed). I cherish reaching the tops of several rocky hills &
historical forts on the plateau landscape of my home city, Hyderabad, India (see
a snap below).
I enjoy cycling a few miles at a stretch,
although haven't had a chance to do so
lately. I also enjoy rowing, and hope I can devote some time in the future
to do serious (competitive) rowing.
I used to play volleyball a lot up until I finished my Masters...Ph.D. work
takes its toll.
Practically
every boy in India grows up playing cricket. I was
no exception. Just love cricket; street cricket or serious cricket.
Vijaya & I like sketching and painting, although she is capable of a
more
focused work than I.
I used to run
quite a bit (placed 3rd place in college-level sprint). I'm
waiting for my kids Ani and Abhi to gain enough height to be able to start racing with
them.
Of course, nothing beats the exciting coding frenzy and the consequent
nail-biting finish of a good programming contest. I killed (sacrificed)
umpteen weekends on participating/organizing/judging in practice contests and
real contests (e.g., ACM contests, Duke
