I asked Anind to send you out this request for your input on
space considerations. I would like for the students to be as
pro-active as possible in defining what needs to happen in
order to make for an orderly transition to the CRB space.
I have added some undergrad students to the list of people included in
Anind's initial post. These include some Senior Design students.
Anind, please forward them the original note.
For those of you who haven't seen the space, please let me know
and I will arrange to give you a tour. There is a lot of space.
Anind mentioned that it is about the size of the GVU Lab area.
In fact, taking into account all of the lab area over there, it
is nearly twice GVU size (including the Sci Vis area).
No student will be forced to move over there. In fact, there
are probably too many students on the potential move list than
the College expected.
I want you to keep some things in mind when thinking about this space:
*) we need to be creative
*) I don't want to think so much in terms of FCE or VE or IS as
areas being alloted some portion of space. I'd like to think about
making it a shared community with very flexible (if any) boundaries
between research groups.
*) I want very much to include Masters and undergraduates in the
plans. Even if you are a masters or undergrad who will not be directly
affected by this move because you will be graduating soon, I ask you
to think about people in your position and what you would like them
to have at their disposal.

is a list I got from some other group considering the move over
to CRB.

preference in course time selection/service duties/meeting times
