Visualizing Multiple Multimedia Streams

Problem
Classroom 2000 records a number of different streams of activity in the classroom, such as audio, video, lecture notes on the electronic whiteboard, Web browsing, student notes, etc. One of the challenges for the project is to present an interface to students which allows them to easily browse a class to find the point they want to examine more closely. In this project, you are asked to develop some suggestions and prototypes for visualizing multiple streams of information. You need to think about visualizing all of the information from a single class as well as visualizing information across one or more classes. Background

There are a variety of interfaces we have experimented with in Classroom 2000. Go to the Classes Using C2000 page and take a look at the progression of interfaces from CS 6751 over time.

Deliverables

A critique of existing Web interfaces, pointing out the good and bad features.
Sample prototype Web interfaces that work on real class data

Evaluation
If all of the above deliverables are provided, you will receive full credit. In the event that you are unable to complete all parts, then you will need to meet with Dr. Abowd to discuss evaluation.
