These are some images that were saved during the software development.
Since the raw image data was saved, once the Rhino Picture class module was
developed, it was used to convert the older pictures into GIFs. After the
Powerline Picture program was finished it automatically produced GIF
images.
Below are three groups of images. They show three different settings for
the Rhino. All of the images are shown at full scale (160x120) in
greyscale. Although the images Rhino produces are color there are
problems in displaying them in color. The scan lines of the Rhino
alternate between lines of red, and green pixels and lines of
green and blue pixels. If one of the lines gets corrupted the color
information gets out of sync. As a result, the images become tinted green
or red. Interpreting the data as greyscale information eliminates this
problem.
The first group of images are taken in a fairly well lit office at a range of about three feet. The Rhino was place just above and behind a monitor that is out of the Rhino's field of view.
In the second group the Rhino is in the FCLab pointing along a wall, looking at the top of a table. the Rhino was sitting in the same location, with the same lighting conditions for all of these images. These images show the data errors in the frames.
The last group of images is taken at a distance of about 8 feet with the Rhino facing the FCLab.
