International Study – Quick Facts for Parents
GT Undergraduate Study Abroad Programs
- Most GT financial aid and scholarships applicable, including HOPE
- Additional scholarships available for study abroad; for further information go to www.oie.gatech.edu/sa/programs
- Out-of-state students pay in-state tuition plus an additional fee
- In-state students pay Georgia Tech in-state tuition
- Many study abroad and exchange programs offer classes in English
- Co-op students can study abroad; it counts as a normal school semester
- Barcelona Study Abroad and Georgia Tech-Lorraine work in conjunction with the International Plan (see below)
- Participants must be 18 years of age prior to departure
- Students may participate in study abroad at any time after completing two semesters
Barcelona Program
- 10-week summer program with two weeklong breaks
- All classes taught in English by GT faculty
- Out-of-state students pay in-state GT tuition plus $250 (based on 12-hour course load, out-of-state students save approximately $8,000 in tuition)
- In-state students pay GT in-state tuition
Georgia Tech-Lorraine
- Program offered fall, spring and summer semesters
- Classes taught four days a week, affording time for weekend travel
- All classes taught in English by GT faculty
- Out-of-state students pay GT in-state tuition plus $2,000 per semester (based on 12-hour course load, out-of-state students save approximately $6,000 in tuition)
- In-state students pay GT in-state tuition
- 30 classes to choose from
