About Me

I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. I plan to graduate by July 2006, and am looking for job opportunity. Here is a copy of my resume [pdf]. Prior to joining Gatech in 2000, I did my undergraduate studies at IIT- Bombay.

My research interest is in distributed systems. In particular, I am interested in developing system infrastructure for time-sensitive and resource intensive applications. My research work, with advisor Kishore Ramachandran, has addressed various middle-ware issues such as buffer management, data fusion, handling faults, resource management, and delivering application QoS.  As part of my thesis work, I am exploring resource management issues for Streaming applications. The work has led to Streamline scheduler [pdf]. Some of my other works include DFuse [pdf], UbiqStack [pdf]. Here is the complete list of publications

In 2003, I spent 11 months at HP Labs on an extended internship and worked on Interactive Grid [pdf] project. I made several contributions including developing firewall traversal solution for VNC, developing a simulator for Interactive Grid scheduling studies, and demonstrating automatic configuration management in the data center environment.

Among other notable system development experiences include developing P2PXWiki, a peer-to-peer content sharing XWiki, as part of  Google Summer of Code 2005 ; and building proof of concept implementation for Streaming Grid (pdf) architecture, as part of 2005 IBM North America Grid Scholars Challenge .

Between 2000 and 2003, I have worked on different projects under the umbrella of ubiq-presence. In particular, check out Media Broker, Event Web, TV Watcher, Family Intercom and DFuse.

09/15/2005 - Google Summer of Code 2005 is complete. I developed P2PXWiki, a peer-to-peer XWiki, as part of this project. P2PXWiki allows resolution of http://user.p2pxwiki.com addresses by using a registry. The registry can be updated in a P2P network by the use of JXTA . In addition, P2PXWiki includes replication capabilities which allow a XWiki to be replicated in a P2P network. Check out this page for more details (including source code) and some P2PXWiki screenshots.
