Peter,

When is your class, because if it is at all possible, then it makes sense to
have Ann come to a demonstration in my 2390 class over in the Rich Building
on that day. My class is from 9:30-11. I will be having student evaluations
from 10:40-11, so if she can come before then, she can actually sit in on some
of the class and see how the prototype works. Nick Sawhney has built a Visual
Basic application that the students can use during the class to take notes.
Almost automatically after the class is over, the notes can be uploaded and
viewed by a Web browser. There are timestamps placed in the Web document as
well, which by early next month will actually link into the audio stream of
the lecture. Nick and Yusuf Goolamabbas are working with some OIT people
(Scott Register and Ami Feinstein) to get that working.

And if we want to make a competition out of this, Sue Long and Yusuf have been
working dilligently trying to get a Newton version of the student note-taker
up and running. :)

Even if Ann cannot make it to my class before 10:40, it makes sense for me to
stick around there and meet with her to talk about things and show her what we
are doing. That means I will miss part of the faculty meeting, but I figure
you will cut me some slack on that. :)

I spoke with Kim Kapel today about Classroom 2000 and Cyberguide, FYI.
