My name is Grégory Nou, I'm a master student at college of computing, in Georgia Tech
I already have a master degree from a French Ecole d'Ingenieur named Supélec. During my last year at Supélec, I enrolled in a double degree program at Georgia Tech Lorraine.
My primary research interests are in Grid Computing and High Performance computing. I'm also working on an Operating System, FreeBSD during my spare time.
I did an internship in a major European bank, BNP Paribas, where I was part of a project leading to the implementation of a Grid Computing infrastructure for credit risk valuation using economic capital, in prevision of Bale 2. Credit risk is highly demanding in calculation power, network, memory, and to databases. During this project, I worked with Platform Symphony 3 and with Datasynapse GridServer 4.2. At this time, we chose GridServer, thinking it was fitting better our very specific needs (Usually, in Finance, a calculation is less than 5 seconds. We were more in the range of 5 to 7 minutes). I wrote some reports, but these are properties of BNP Paribas, and are confidential. In finance, Grid Computing is still a new technology, and therefore considered as a competitive advantage. At this time, my advisor was Dr. VialleI'm currently involved in a project of RNA secondary structure prediction. My advisor is Dr. Bader.
