I completed my PhD from the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology and now work at Silicon Graphics (SGI) in Mountain View in California. Much earlier, I did all my schooling at the Mother's International School, New Delhi, India.
My research interests are in Distributed Shared Memories and Distributed Operating Systems.
I was very active in organizing Indian music concerts at Georgia Tech and was one of the founding members of the Georgia Tech Spic-Macay chapter. We have organized concerts by Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Reena and Rajib Chakraborty, Sanjeev Abhyankar, Ravikiran, Master Shashank and Rajan and Sajan Misra in the past as well as many others. I also hold a belt in Taekwondo.
If you are interested in the country I am from, India, then there are various comprehensive sources of information available:
The children of India need you - Child Relief and You (CRY) is an independent voluntary tax-exempt non-profit relief organization that shows you the various ways in which you can contribute, naturally and effortlessly.
For five or so years, I also maintained a survey of travel agents who give good deals on tickets to the Indian subcontinent. You can peruse both the text and the html versions here.
If you are interested in Indian films or popular music, you should read the RMIM FAQ (HTML and text) that I post to Rec.Music.Indian.Misc . There also exists an RMIM automailer that can get you, auto-magically, information like the list of songs in a movie, the singers and other data for any song and lots more. You might also want to see the ITRANS database of songs and ghazals and other related stuff. To know more about the ITRANS transliteration scheme, other documents that have been transliterated, and movie song lyrics, click here .
