HCC - Amy:
- The proposal has been passed by the CoC Faculty and one institute level
committee. I believe there is just one more rubber stamping institute
level committee and the regents. No one expects any problems from here on out.
- The HCC program will be accepting 5 new Ph.D. students for the Fall semester.
No official advertising has been done, so the first class will be made up
of three classes of students: (1) Current Gatech students (BS. or MS.),
(2) Outside folks who just happened to hear about it and put their
application in the regular CS pool along with a note, (3) People who applied
to the regular CS pool who are not going to be accepted but who might be
better HCC candidates. Current students who aim to be grandfathered in are
not included in that number. Applications were made available (hard-copy
only) last Wednesday. They are due back in no later than the 17th.
Decisions will be made in 4-6 weeks, in time for recruiting weekend.
