GSC: November Minutes

  - discussion of grad students on faculty lists (reps) to monitor
    for important events -- still TBD with ellen

  - RAs and maybe TAs had a pay bump up in Sep... why?
        --> Ellen reports "it was a one-time adjustment..." and
            says talk to laverne for details

  - pay rates not previously rising with general raises to fac/staff
         - ellen thinking of tie-in on RA/TA rates to some fraction
           of a base account... base account gets raises at same rate
           of fac/staff...

  - communications: more request for feedback on new PhD page by
    Alton ... also, deference of hiring new communications director
    with budget problems persisting...

  - holiday party: ellen wants to know if grad students want one?
         - seems to be generally a staff-event... some faculty...
         - do students want to paritcipate?  do they want their own?
         - consensus:  it's too late at the holidays. most students
           are elsewhere or preparing to leave.

   - women@cc : halloween pumpkin carving and grad tea went well
