Reports from GSC members
Julie Kientz – Faculty recruiting
All is proceeding smoothly and student lunches with faculty are taking place.
Bryan Payne – Faculty recuiting
Bryan is also participating in the faculty recruiting committee now. He is also starting to organize student lunches with faculty.
Alan Wagner
Participating in the IC admission committee – students are welcome to participate if they wish – contact Alan if you’re interested.
Grad Teas
Chris Parnin held a successful grad tea in Klaus with tasty soup and treats.
Recruiting
No word from faculty on recruiting events. Need to ask how students can help. Recruiting is being organized by Area this year. The swiki needs to updated since some information was removed that is useful for students. Qualifiers and students with classes in the week may not be able to help out with recruiting. Lana volunteered to help with IC recruiting.
TSO
There may be changes in TSO again but information will be forthcoming on how students will be affected.
Business cards
We need to look into getting smaller numbers of business cards printed since many of us have outdated cards with division names on them etc. Bryan is willing to help out with this.
Travel policy confusion
There was some confusion over the rules for applying for $200 grants. This needs to be clarified by graduate programs.
<End of Meeting>
Next Meeting scheduled for March 29 in Klaus.
