Committee Responsibilities
Chief Operating Office
  • moderates slush, public, gsc mailing lists
  • organizes monthly meetings, takes meeting minutes
GSC Webpages
  • puts up minutes on webpages
  • updates webpages as needed
College Liaison
  • meets with Leo Mark and other College Level people
  • heads Executive Committee
  • heads Travel funds committee
  • member of all 3 faculty mailing lists (CS/CSE/IC)
  • finds people to fill positions on council (there are still some open slots)
CS Liaison
  • attends faculty meetings
  • liaises with Ellen Zegura
  • part of exec committee, travel funds
  • member of CS faculty mailing list
IC Liaison
  • attends faculty meetings
  • liaises with Aaron Bobick
  • part of exec committee, travel funds
  • member of IC faculty mailing list
CSE Liaison
  • attends faculty meetings
  • liaises with Richard Fujimoto
  • part of exec committee, travel fundsmember of CSE faculty mailing list
  • member of CSE faculty mailing list
TSO Liaison
  • liaise with TSO director
  • brings student issues to TSO and vice versa
Graduate Curriculum
  • attend the GC meetings to represent graduate student opinions
  • deal primarily with courses, curriculum, and requirements for the programs and degrees
Faculty Recruiting
  • sit on Faculty recruiting committee
  • organise student lunches with faculty
Grad /Undergrad curriculum committee
  • attend the GC meetings to represent graduate student opinions
  • deal primarily with courses, curriculum, and requirements for the programs and degrees
  • Still need someone for HCC grad curriculum committee
Grad women@cc
  • run grad women@cc
Social
  • organise faculty review event in Fall (once off event)
  • organise picnic in Fall (once off event)
  • run happy hour mailing list
  • run grad teas/get people to run grad teas
  • get someone to run Coffee and Cookie break in IC
  • probably need more people here, possibly one for each event?
PhD recruiting
  • organize IC recruiting/ help with CS and CSE recruiting
  • need to find people to help with CS and CSE recruiting
PhD orientation
  • help find volunteers to fill panel and set up for Fall orientation
PhD Job Hunting Seminar
  • runs seminar
PhD proposal group
  • runs support group for proposals
Masters Rep and Masters Orientation
  • helps with masters orientation in Fall semester
  • brings masters level issues to GSC
RSI lending library
  • assist with Equipment Lending Library
  • address any dangerous working conditions for CoC graduate students
