David Krum, Senior Software Engineer and GVU Alum
Bosch Research and Technology Center
Abstract:
The name Bosch is closely associated with the automotive industry. But Bosch
is not just famous for automotive technology products like gasoline, diesel and chassis systems and
car electronics. Bosch also supplies many other products and services, including industrial technology,
power tools, security solutions and household appliances.
In 1999, Bosch established its first North American operation devoted exclusively
to research and development: The Research and Technology Center North America (RTC), with offices in Palo
Alto, California and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Research areas for RTC include: power train technologies,
MEMS, semiconductor technologies, wireless sensor networks, human machine interaction, multi-source data
processing and software engineering.
In this talk, I will introduce Bosch and Bosch RTC. I will describe some of the
projects underway at Bosch RTC and explore opportunities involving research collaborations, internships
and other activities. Questions and discussion will be welcome, whether they are about Bosch or the
post-Georgia Tech world from the perspective of a recent alumnus.
