Business ecosystems are characterized by large, complex, and global networks of firms, often from many different market segments, all collaborating, partnering, and competing to create and deliver new products and services. Given the rapidly increasing scale, complexity, and rate of change of business ecosystems, as well as economic and competitive pressures, analysts are faced with the formidable task of quickly understanding the fundamental characteristics of these interfirm networks. |
16 participants were asked to fill out an immersive tendencies questionnaire and then play a multiplayer game in virtual reality, augmented reality, and a non-stereoscopic hybrid. They were then asked to fill out a presence questionnaire after each play-through. An analysis of the results suggests that those scoring lower in immersive tendencies are likely to have higher perceived presence in virtual reality than augmented reality, but that those scoring higher in immersive tendencies may actually experience a greater sense of presence in augmented reality applications. |
A robot that can be attached to amputees, allowing its technology to be embedded into humans. The robotic drumming prosthesis has motors that power two drumsticks. The first stick is controlled both physically by the musicians' arms and electronically using electromyography (EMG) muscle sensors. The other stick "listens" to the music being played and improvises. |
