GENERAL GUIDELINES:

We've intended this list to be both technical and non-technical
(leaning towards technical) and to be an unmoderated, free-form
discussion of IRIS Performer.

It must be very clear that this list is not an official support
channel. Think of it much in the same way you would a newsgroup --
questions are asked, most get answered publically, some are taken
off-line into private email conversations, and of course, some aren't
answered.

A few things that can be best brought up by Q&A:

Q: Is this list archived anywhere?
A: Yes, all articles posted are saved. Monthly archives are
available via anonymous ftp to sgigate.sgi.com in the directory
    ~ftp/pub/Performer/monthly-archives. An email retrieval method
will be made available soon as well.

Q: Can/Should I post code to the list?
A: Use your good judgement. If it's short, sure. If it's
long, maybe. If it spans multiple files with 100K of
    test data, please don't.

Q: Can/Should I promote my product via the list?
A: Please do not use the list as an advertising forum.
This includes both "commercial" and "personal" advertising.

Q: Can/Should I report bugs to the list?
A: You are encouraged to report bugs to your support provider, but
feel free to investigate bugs with the subscribers of the list.

Q: Where should I send FAQ comments, suggestions, and corrections?
A: aschaffe@sgi.com

This list is new enough to form in many different ways; if you have
questions or comments, please send mail to the list administrator.
