John Goldthwaite

Research Scientist II
Center for Rehabilitation Technology College of Architecture

John Goldthwaite has a master's degree in decision science from Georgia State University. In addition to his position as a research scientist II, he is also the department head for the Center for Rehabilitation Technology (CRT) Computer Lab. Both positions are affiliated with the School of Industrial Design in the College of Architecture.

John leads CRT's research efforts in computer applications for people with disabilities. He provides rehabilitation engineering and computer access services for clients of Georgia's Division of Rehabilitation Services. His research interests are in developing computer-based aids for individuals with cognitive impairment, learning disabilities and the elderly. John is a recipient of the Roosevelt Warm Spring Foundation's Delano Award for rehabilitation service. He is chair-elect of the special interest group on computer application of RESNA, the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. His research is supported by funding from the State of Georgia's Division of Rehabilitation Services, the Board of Regents, the U.S. Department of Education National Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research and the NEC Foundation.
