Norberto Ezquerra

Norberto Ezquerra obtained his undergraduate degrees from the University of South Florida, and his doctorate from Florida State University. He is an Associate Professor in the College of Computing, an adjunct faculty member in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and an adjunct professor in the Radiology Department at the Emory University School of Medicine. His research interests include computer graphics and visualization, computer vision in medicine, artificial intelligence in medicine, modeling of physically-based systems, medical informatics, telemedicine, and models of visual reasoning. Dr. Ezquerra has served as principal investigator in numerous research programs dealing with the interpretation and visualization of multidimensional imagery. He received a FIRST award from the National Institutes of Health for his work in interpreting cardiac images, participated in the 1990 NATO Advanced Research Workshop in Biomedical Computing, and chaired the 1990 Conference on Visualization in Biomedical Computing. He is Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, and a member of Association of Computing Machinery, American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Medical Informatics Association, IEEE Computer Society, Sigma Xi, IEEE Engineering in Medicine Biology Society, and American Physical Society.
