Terry Harpold

Terry Harpold is an Assistant Professor in the School of Literature,
Communication and Culture. He received his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature
and Literary Theory from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. His
research interests include postmodern culture and literature, the narrative
and performative economies of digital media, and the design and
phenomenology of graphical user interfaces. His most recent publications
and lectures include discussions of hypertextual narrative form and its
graphical representations, and the obscured political economies of
cartographic depictions of the Internet. He is currently completing the
manuscript of a book on psychoanalysis and hypertext aesthetics, Links
and Their Vicissitudes, to be published by The University of Michigan
Press in 1999.
