Title:
Visual Representations of Discrete Multivariate Data
Authors:

Abstract:
Some methods are presented, involving shape and color distortions of 3-D objects, that are well suited for the correlated interpretation of complex, discrete data. Examples are given for data taken from molecular dynamics simulations, but the methods are applicable to other systems as well. It is shown that stereoscopic display plays a major role in promoting interpretation of these highly detailed visualizations, but the methods of stereoscopic display must be applied carefully to reveal the full information content of the images. Extensions of these methods are discussed, and areas of future research are outlined.
