Pricing for Page Creation and Design

- Unfortunately, our choices did not map well to the pricing options offered
by the providers who answered the survey, as nearly half (47.24%) reported using
other pricing models.
- The most popular model replied to was "Hourly", with 28.91% attaching an hourly
fee to page design.
- Most pages are designed for under $75 per hour (18.48%) and in between
$10 to $50 per page (12.01%).
Types of Services Offered

- This question attempts to gain an idea of what types of services Web Service
Providers are offering. Over half of all companies provide
page design (78.99%), Internet/Web consulting (72.83%), other types of services (67.77%),
disk space (59.4%), Internet/Web marketing advice (56.24%), CGI scripting (54.66%), and
traffic analysis of page accesses (52.13%).
How Long in Business

- Over half of the providers have been in business over 10 months (53.71%).
Between January and March, 17.54% of the providers surveyed went online. The
startup rate for Web Service Provider companies is fairly consistent (around 10%).
Domain Registration Services

- The Web Service Providers surveyed were equally likely to provide Domain
Name Service (DNS) Registration (46.13%) as to not provide DNS services (46.92%).
- European providers were nearly seven times as likely to know about DNS
than their US counterparts. (1.32% European vs 7.4% US replied "Don't Know" whether they
provide DNS services).

- The majority of providers have between 1 and 10 employees (67.3%), with
16.9% having between 11 and 50, 3.32 having between 51 and 100, and 12.48%
having over 100 employees.

by the providers who answered the survey, as over half (55.61%) reported using
other pricing models.
- The most popular model replied to was "Hourly", with 30.96% attaching an hourly
fee to CGI scripting.
