PhD Qualifying Exam: General Information
First, make sure you read
the general CoC information page about the
qualifying
exam.
The written part of the
Intelligent Systems qualifying exam requires
that each candidate be examined in a Central Core and
in two specialization
areas.
The exam will be approximately evenly divided
amongst those three sections.
The specialization areas are:
- Robotics
- Perception
- Machine Learning
- Planning and Search
- Cognitive Science
- Knowledge Representation, Reasoning,
and Natural Language
All candidates must inform
the IS faculty as to which sub-areas will be their primary and
secondary areas.
