About the Southface Internship Program

Since 1978, Southface has worked with the construction and development industry, building owners, government agencies and policy makers to promote sustainable homes, workplaces and communities. Our internship program provides a substantive learning experience that allows interns to explore career options and to develop professional skills in the fields of sustainability, building sciences and nonprofit management.

Position Overview

The Database Administrator Intern supports Southface building science education, clean energy policy, development, communication and training programs. The Database Administrator Intern will provide vital and direct support to the GeorgiaEnergyData.org project, Clean Energy Industries Census project and Southface Development, Residential and Commercial program teams while gaining valuable skills in current data management systems and cloud applications. 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Data management, maintenance and migration
  • Database layout, field and workflow adjustments
  • Database process collaboration and efficiency improvements
  • Data analyses and manipulation


Professional Development Opportunities

  • On-the-job training in Salesforce, MemberNation, Jotform, Raiser’s Edge/Net Communities, Adobe Suite, and Website content management systems

Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel, (design, basic html, SQL and database software experience a plus)
  • Strong writing, communication and organization skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and deadlines
  • Interest in sustainability and green building technologies
  • Commitment to Southface mission
