Professors Brian Magerko (Digital Media) and Jason Freeman (Music Technology) are looking for an undergraduate research assistant to collaborate on EarSketch, an NSF-funded project that uses multi-track audio production software and a custom Python API to teach high school students basic computer science concepts through computational music composition and remixing.  Students will be involved in designing the API for pre-existing audio software and creating examples of using that API for remixing / composing music using code.

A minimum time commitment of 15 hours per week is expected (20 hours / week max) and applicants must be available for both spring and summer 2012 terms.

Interested students must have sophomore standing or higher, significant prior experience in Python and a passion for both music and computer science.  Experience in music production software (e.g. GarageBand, Live, Pro Tools, Reaper, etc.) is preferred though not required.

How to Apply: Interested students should e-mail jason.freeman@gatech.edu no later than Friday, January 27th. Please attach a brief resume including overall GPA, major GPA, and related work / project experience.
