Overview

The Humana IT Organization is currently seeking interns who are interested in working in the Louisville, KY or Green Bay, WI Markets.

Humana is offering an excellent opportunity to college students to learn about IT operations in the ever-growing healthcare field. Our summer interns will be exposed to the latest technologies and practices within a Fortune 100 company.

Humana is experiencing an exciting time of growth. A key ingredient to our success has revolved around our IT efforts. We have adopted Agile methodologies and use Microsoft’s .NET platform to build software solutions. Through this program, you will apply what you have been learning in the classroom to real-world situations.  As an intern, you will work closely with Humana’s IT Learning Services department (ITLS). ITLS will provide on-site classroom experiences to help orient you to our work environment, software processes and the healthcare industry.

You will have the opportunity to create a software application for use within Humana. You will work with experienced developers and with a team of other interns to gather requirements, design and build a real working application.  Past internship classes have built systems using .NET C#, JavaScript, CSS, and SQL running MS Visual Studio 2010, Silverlight v4, and SQL Server Client 2008. These applications are accessible by over 45,000 Humana associates. Other technologies used were Web Services, XML, AJAX, MEF, PRISM, and HTML.
