Our undergraduate intern program will provide you with an excellent opportunity to experience Information Technology in a large corporate environment.  You will work along-side our trained professionals to learn and apply valuable skills.  Most importantly, you’ll be engaged in meaningful work for an organization that is committed to “helping people live safer, more secure lives” every day. 
 
Liberty Mutual IT consists of approximately 3,200 employees located in various offices across the U.S.  Beginning in May 2012, we will have various technical intern opportunities available in the following locations: Portsmouth & Dover, NH; Boston, MA; Indianapolis, IN; Fairfield, OH; Wausau, WI; and Seattle, WA.
 
The IT mission is “to provide our business partners with applications, computing and communications services, and IT consulting, which enable company strategies and business objectives to be achieved.” 
 
More specifically,
·         We build and support applications for Commercial Markets, Personal Markets, Liberty Mutual Agency Corporation IT, and various Corporate Departments
·         We are also an enterprise-wide infrastructure organization that supports all business units except non-U.S. operations
·         Our IT Enterprise Technology Services group strengthens and supports our IT capability through application delivery services and standards, providing structure and organization to our processes, technologies, platforms, and services that are common to all of Liberty.
 
Intern assignments can include the following: Application Development; Software Development; Desktop Support; System Analysis; Quality Assurance; SharePoint Applications; Data Analysis & Design; Hardware Support; Middleware/Midrange Technologies.
 
The typical intern student is an undergraduate who will handle projects or some of the work normally performed by an entry-level, professional employee.  Qualified individuals will have strong communication and analytical skills, high level of commitment and initiative while working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or other technical related programs with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
