QA Tester

Growing and modern company in Lawrenceville has an immediate need for a QA Tester on the Database side.  This position is open due to growth, as their team is currently strong on the front-end side of QA and need a person who is comfortable using MySQL to do data validation.  They are almost entirely manual with just a slightly automated home-grown tool for the front-end.

This is an excellent opportunity to be the data/back-end Test Expert at the company.  You will be the go-to person for all questions and inquiries as it relates to product data.  Currently the Director is doing this work and they need to hire a person to take this over.  You do not need to be an expert in this - a recent graduate will be just fine.  NOTE - this is not a front-end manual QA job.

General Responsibilities:

  • Heavy data validation within MySQL.
  • Collect data from MySQL database (SELECT statement), send query or command to a MySQL connection, etc.
  • Ability to dig into the product on a more technical level. 
  • Ability to break data apart, make sense of why instances occurs.

Requirements:

  • Recent grad or 1-5 years' data validation experience (MySQL preferred but will consider MS SQL experience - must be able to pass a short MySQL database aptitude test).
  • Will take a Programmer who recently graduated and would like to get into QA.
  • Degree preferred, not required.
  • Agile environment and Java experience are pluses
