A national labor and employment law firm is seeking to add a MS SQL Server Database Administrator to its IT team.  We are looking for a highly competent and motivated individual with a service oriented mentality to be responsible for optimizing the performance and reliability of the SQL databases used in a variety of production applications. The primary responsibilities of this role include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, daily monitoring of database backups and maintenance jobs as well as responding to database alerts and escalations.  The DBA will also work with other members of the IT team to design strategic solutions that support additional growth in DB applications and insure business continuity and security for database applications.

 

Qualifications:

• Experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server.

• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.

• Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.

• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server.

• Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.

• Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.

• Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.

• Good communication and documentation skills.
