Seeking a strong undergraduate programmer to complete development of a site dedicated to innovative teaching of advanced Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Russian language and culture through the prism of song. The Georgia Tech Critical Languages Song Project is a U.S. Department of Education funded multi-year initiative to radically restructure language and culture pedagogy for advanced undergraduates in critical-need languages by combining a specially tailored web-accessible computer interface with innovative pedagogy. The computer interface (designer back-side and student visible front-side) and materials exist in draft form. We are looking for a programmer who will be available 10-12 hours/wk during spring 2012 (May/June possible, as well) to take development to the next stage. The programmer should have strong skills in PHP, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Must be able to work in a Linux environment. Experience working with foreign languages is helpful but not required.
How to Apply: Please send email, resume and links to portfolio if available to Dr. Stuart Goldberg, sgoldberg@gatech.edu.
