We have multiple opportunities for software engineers within the Sensor Software Architecture (S2A) group in Atlanta, Georgia. The S2A group mission is to provide world class software to be used in sensor, signal processing, electronic warfare and intelligence surveillance reconnaissance (ISR) systems deployed on land, air and sea. Our software team employs a modern software engineering process to design, code, integrate and test capabilities on a continuous basis resulting in a mature and quality solution for our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.

The successful candidates will be involved in software development, integration, and testing of real-time systems and working as a team with the hardware and algorithm engineers. The candidates will support requirement generation, architecture definition, designing, implementing, debugging, documenting and fixing problems for the operational software applications, as well as supporting software integration and verification efforts. Our software applications are developed using C, C++ and Java programming languages running on a variety of computing platforms running Linux, UNIX or Windows operating systems. The S2A utilizes productive modern and industry proven software development environments.

The candidate will be an active participant performing development tasks independently and will provide technical leadership in multiple areas of software engineering. This successful candidate will employ their understanding of real-time software design to recognize the performance implications associated with specific detail implementations. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for understanding computer architecture options and implementing solutions that satisfy real-time performance requirements.

Required Skills:

  • 4 years experience with full software lifecycle
  • 2 years C, C++ or Java experience
  • 2 years Linux or UNIX experience
  • Knowledge of computer architectures including multi-core environments
  • Familiarity with software applications requiring multi-threaded programming implementation  

Desired Skills:

  • Existing secret clearance, or the ability to obtain an interim clearance within 30 days and full clearance thereafter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Software development experience in a DoD environment
  • Sensor or Electronic Warfare domain knowledge
  • Embedded and real-time applications development
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Self-starter and ability to lead development, integration and test activities
  • Object-Oriented Design Knowledge including UML
  • Experience developing software in a team based development environment
  • Ph.D Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering

Required Education (Including Major):

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering
