The Technical Writer/Editor will be responsible for creating and maintaining public-facing content that supports our corporate commitment to make agile easier.  The Technical Writer/Editor will work with the community site team to bring additional content into the site, keep product-related content current and relevant, and develop new and creative ways to deliver product information.  The Technical Writer/Editor will become an expert in all public-facing content and will continuously curate multiple sources of content to fill knowledge gaps, consolidate duplicate content, and retire unnecessary content.  In addition, the Technical Writer/Editor will work with other departments to write, edit, and publish new content.  In particular, the Technical Writer/Editor will work with product managers to develop community and product documentation for new features in the core product and technical documentation on the API and platform.  The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as solid technology skills. Candidates are expected to be flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.



  • Help establish a content strategy that delivers superior agile and product information to our customers, prospects, and the agile community
  • Publish style guides for public-facing content and train content authors
  • Edit and publish content developed by other teams
  • Work with core product managers to develop public-facing content, both written and video, to support product releases
  • Support the platform manager and team in delivering developer-facing technical documentation that supports our open agile platform
  • Collaborate with the community site team to organize and deliver additional categories of content through the community site
  • Curate current content and suggest and plan improvements


Required Skills:


  • 3+ years of experience writing end-user procedural manuals, help, reference and other user assistance at a software company
  • 1+ years of experience in software documentation or related field
  • Strong computer knowledge and aptitude, including content management systems (i.e. MindTouch), MS Office applications, and help authoring software (i.e. RoboHelp)
  • Experience as a technical writer/editor on customer-facing software documentation
  • Experience working on a cross-functional content development team a plus
  • Familiarity with agile development process a bigger plus
  • A high degree of motivation, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Professional Writing, Computer Science or equivalent experience
