Job Summary: The Technology Development Center (TDC) Summer Associates Program is part of UPMC's formal Summer Associates Program. This is an 11 week, paid internship program starting at the end of May and ending in mid-August that combines real work experience with networking opportunities.
The TDC is developing a world-class human-centered design team, which is an integral part of our innovative solutions and a critical factor in our success. This group covers a number of traditional and emerging creative disciplines including interaction design, visual design, industrial design, architecture, film making, and information design. Working across a dynamic range of products and platforms, Summer Associates will work with managers and participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, including research and analysis. As a member of the design group you'll work with an interdisciplinary team to help design and build some of the most innovative health IT systems being developed today.
Qualifications: Students must be working on a degree from an accredited university majoring in a field related to information systems, human-computer interaction, user experience design, computer science or computer engineering. Ideally, students should complete this program between their junior and senior year, however, exceptional sophomores, current seniors, and graduate students will be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and being a hardworking, conscientious, and self-motivated individual are required. A cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 is strongly preferred, and preference will be given to candidates that have demonstrated leadership ability through their studies, employment, or extracurricular activities.
