2.0 Ongoing Research & Development
Our major activities during the summer quarter was participation in the Baltimore demonstrations and subsequent prototype tool development. The Esprit de Corps Suite (EDCS) comprises the following tools.
ISVis (Interactio Scenario Visualizer) - architectural extraction and localization tool SIRRINE (Self-Improving Reflective Reasoner Integrating Noteworthy Experience ) - model-based diagnosis and adaption tool supporting the MESA process SAAMPad (Software Architecture Analysis Method tool) - Architecture rationale capture tool supporting the SAAM process VisEd - a general-purpose architecture visualization tool MORPH (Model Oriented Reengineering Process for HCI) - tools for analyzing and transforming user interface software ACMEServer - infrastructure communications support tool for interfacing to ACMELib representations ScenICView - (Scenario Inquiry Cycle Viewer) - manages and provides access to scenarios and high-level system goals. We have also begun research on Architectural Reconsiliation; that is, how to integrate muliple views and perspectives of architectural information.
3.0 Notable Accomplishments & Technology Transition
We have begun a significant evaluation and technology transfer effort with Nortel's Atlanta development laboratory. In particular, three exercises have commenced.
The first effort involves the use of ScenIC as part of a requirements elicitation exercise to support an evolutionary enhancement of a commercial product The second effort is using the SAAM process to evaluate the architectural impact of proposed evolutionary changes to a major Nortel telecommunications product The third effort involves a port of ISVis to Nortel's HP workstations.
4.0 Progress on Inter/Intra Cluster Collaboration
We continue to work with Organon Motives and Knowledge Evolution. In particular, we want to be able to express TMK models in ACME. Our collaborators have already made some progress in this effort that we want to take advantage of.
5.0 Publications
6.0 Travel
7.0 Miscellaneous/Administrative/Problematic Issues
8.0 Plans For The Next Reporting Period
Continue the Nortel MORALE evaluation and transition Release ACMEServer, VisEd, Sirrine, and the next version of ISVis Continue the development of the other Esprit de Corps tools Continue investigation of the architecture resolution problem in anticipation of building the REMORA tool component of the Esprit de Corps tool suite
