May 3, 2007
(May 4, 2007) - On April 18th, the Institute Undergraduate Curriculum Committee (IUCC) approved the granting of a posthumous degree for CS undergraduate Daniel Compton. Compton died last year and would have been a senior graduating this month.
Friends of the deceased, Victor Jaworski and James Gaines, along with Compton's father, Jim Compton, lead the effort to have Compton recognized with a posthumous degree.
Compton was a co-op student and attended Georgia Tech in good standing from Fall 2002 to Spring 2006.
