Tom Pilsch is and adjunct professor of the practice in the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. From 1997 to 2003 he served as the College's Assistant Dean for Continuing Education and Special Programs and from 2003 to 2011 was the College's Assistant Dean for Students.
Tom also holds an appointment as professor of the practice of national security in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech. He teaches a series of courses on Technology & Modern War and lectures on the history of Air Operations in the Vietnam War.
Prior to joining the College of Computing, Tom served nearly 30 years on active duty with the United States Air Force and retired with the rank of Brigadier General.
His professional interests include strategic planning, aircraft operations and design, space operations, and the history of war and national security decision processes.
