The Center for Accessible Technology in Sign (CATS) is a joint project between the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf and the Georgia Institute of Technology. CATS is dedicated to providing accessibility to learning via sign language. CATS' goal is to enhance language, literacy and general world knowledge by providing tools which make text, captions, video, web pages, and multimedia accessible to deaf users, particularly children.

MySignBookLink is a free online tool that allows users to type any word from a book, magazine, newspaper... into a prompt box and see a sign, signed definition and/or picture representing the word.

The Electric Language, Learning, and Literacy Factory is the place for deaf children to be for signed video, books, and tools that make media accessible. Several of our CATS tools are there as well as access to DeafPlanet. Bring the kids, they want to come back often.

MySignLink MySignLink is a free online tool that allows users to select any word on a web page or type a word in a prompt box and see a sign, signed definition and/or picture representing the word. This tool has been awarded the American Library Association-Grolier Foundation award for making the greatest contribution to children's literacy in 2003.
MySignVideoLink MySignVideoLink a free online tool that allows users to type any word from a captioned video into a prompt box and see a sign, signed definition and/or picture representing the word.
MySignCartoon MySignCartoon offers signed video on-demand. This free on-line service currently contains more than 50 animated children's videos.

CastleQuest CastleQuest is an American Sign Language-based educational video game which allows users to control the hero, Abe, by signing to the computer.

LifeLinks Tutor's foundation provides free tutoring for deaf students in all subjects. Highly reccomended by CATS.

Signing Time

Signing TimeAs seen on Public Televison, the award-winning television and DVD series "Signing Time" and "Baby Signing Time" provides an easy way to learn American Sign Language (ASL). Through interactive songs and teaching segments, the Signing Time stars, Rachel, Alex and Leah invite children of all ages to play, sing and sign along while they learn basic ASL vocabulary and simple ASL baby sign.
