projectpic missing   Augmented Reality for Poultry Inspection
In this project, we are investigating the use of AR technology to improve efficiency and reduce manpower of poultry processing plants. Specifically, we are interested in using AR to support communication between FDA inspectors and factory workers on a shackle line, allowing multiple inspectors to communicate with a single worker.

The larger question in this work is whether AR can support situational awareness for a worker on an assembly line. By enabling the worker to look up and down the line and see the state of many items before they reach the worker, AR should allow workers to plan their action more effectively, reducing the cognitive load of their task.

We will be testing three prototypes namely; Audio, Augmented Reality and Laser. We wish to compare the effectiveness of these three prototypes and determine how well they could be used to replace the Inspector next to the assembly line.
