Biography
David Buttler is currently a PhD student at the College of Computing,
Georgia Tech. Prior to coming to Georgia Tech, David was employed as a
research programmer at Oregon Graduate Institute. He holds a B.Sc. in
Computing Science from the University of Alberta, and a B.S. in
Mathematics from Andrews University, MI.
His main research interests are
data discovery and extraction on the Internet,
monitoring information for meaningful changes,
building novel information management tools,
information brokers,
data delivery of non-text data,
and XML as tool to accomplish these tasks.
He is the main developer of
the AQR tool,
and Omini (the Object mining and extraction tool). Also, he is one of the contributors in the development
of WebCQ, OpenCQ, XWRAP Elite, and XWRAP Original.
He is an avid reader and enjoys camping.
