Research Area:

MANIACS Lab, mainly working with NETI@home data (network and network protocol analysis).

 

Description:

We are going to be investigating ICMP and IGMP data in the NETI@home dataset.  In particular, we are going to look at the various types of ICMP and IGMP flows observed and their relation to host operating system.  Along the way, we expect to find interesting results.  During the course of this research we will develop an in-depth knowledge of both protocols.  Further, we plan to prepare and submit a paper for publication in conference proceedings by the end of next semester.

 

Schedule:

*Meeting at least twice a week or more (Currently Mondays and Thursdays at 3:00).

December

- determine what the project will entail, develop a brief outline of what needs to be done

January

- work on project

March

- begin the research paper

April

- poster presentation and paper complete
