Programming Phase

The architecture firms of Sizemore Floyd (SF) and Einhorn Yaffee Prescott (EYP) have been contracted to handle the programming phase. They are working with a Building Programming Committee (BPC), co-chaired by Ellen Zegura (CoC) and Jay Schlag (ECE). The outcome of programming is a final program document that describes the types of spaces, including number, size and function, and relationships between spaces. SF and EYP divide the task into six parts: vision, mission model, detailed program development, validation, test fit, and final program development.

Other Buildings

A group involved in programming visited the ACES building at UT-Austin and Newell Simon Hall at CMU. We also used Soda Hall at Berkeley as a comparison. SF/EYP created very nice floorplans, included below. Beware -- my browser acts flaky with them, and I don't know why.
