Barbara Burks Fasse joined the EduTech Learning by Design project in December 1997 as a member of the LBD assessment team. She coordinates the collection and analysis of qualitative data. Barbara is often referred to as the project's "ethnographer" (recorder of culture). While she is, indeed, an ethnographer by nature as well as by training, ethnography in its purest form is not what is called for at this time in the project's evolution. She is, instead, applying qualitative research methodology to inform program evaluation, curriculum and product development, teacher training, and the overarching research agenda.
Barbara holds a Ph.D. in educational psychology. She has taught elementary aged children as well as middle school students in both public and private schools.
