Each unit begins with a "Messing About" activity as a means for familiarizing students with the problem space. In the erosion management challenge, this activity takes the form of building and running a physical model of something that was seen during the erosion walk, for which they have an idea of the process that created it, and which was recorded on the Erosion Observations page.
