IRIS Explorer Seminar
Resources
Some resources for using Explorer:
- IRIS Explorer User's Guide. This gives detailed
information about Explorer and using it. There's more
than you need to know here but if you get in a jam it
might be useful. It is available:
- in the IRIS InSight Library
- You can access this from the toolchest
on the desktop. (The toolchest is
probably in the upper left-hand corner of
your screen.) Look in the Help
menu under Online Books. Either
search the titles for Explorer or
scroll down the book list to the section SGI_EndUser
and find it there (double-click to open).
The good thing about using Insight is
that you can search over selected books
or within a book, instead of flipping
through hardcopy (though a physical book
is easier to read).
- at http://www.nag.com/0/visual/IE/iecbb/DOC/UG/CONTENTS.html
- This is for version 3.0 of Explorer, and
we are running v. 2.2.2, so we don't have
some of the features discussed here, but
in general things are very close to what
we have.
- NAG IRIS
Explorer Home Page.
- The Numerical
Algorithms Group now produces Explorer. At
this North American site you can find the above
manual (and the other two Explorer manuals, which
you aren't likely to need now), as well as a Tutorial
. Again, the tutorial is for a more recent
version, but it is still similar, and may be
helpful.
- Main
NAG IRIS Explorer Center
- The main NAG site is over in the UK, and is over
a slow transatlantic link. They have the above
documentation as well as links to other stuff
(including MultiDimensional-MultiSensor/MultiModality
Biomedical Imaging and Processing which we won't
cover here).
- Explorer newsgroup comp.graphics.apps.iris-explorer.
Its usually best to read the FAQ
before asking a qustion on a newsgroup, just to see if it
is a common one already answered.
