Overview

Students must demonstrate competence in the five core areas of computer science designated below. To demonstrate competence, a student must either pass the core exam in that area or take a pertinent course and achieve the grade listed below. Please attach a transcript copy to this form when courses are used for any area. Any exceptions to this requires an Area Advisor signature (signatures are not needed for the two standard methods). Core competence should be completed by a student's 6th quarter in residence.
