Georgia Tech's systems research group is concerned with complex software/hardware systems: their development, their use, and the principles underlying both. Members of GT's systems group conduct research in the functional areas of information systems, distributed and parallel computing, computer security and dependability, programming languages and compilers, operating systems, performance evaluation, computer architecture, and networks; research results are evaluated with realistic applications from the domains of enterprise computing, multimedia and sensor systems, embedded and real-time systems, and high performance computing, including discrete event simulation.
