MacMOOSE
MacMOOSE is a client program designed to make it easier to program MOOs and
MOOSEs, and includes:
- Object browsers to see all of an object's verbs and properties.
- WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editing of verbs and properties.
- Multiple connections.
- Separate windows for:
- Help
- Sending MOOmail
- In fact, the output of any command.
- Etc.

If you would like to use the editing features of MacMOOSE and WinMOOSE
on your MOO, you need to install MacMOOSE_utils.
Known bugs:
- If your net connection isn't configured correctly or
if there is a firewall at your site, your machine may crash
on sending MacMOOSE registration information.
- Occasionally, we have observed system errors on quitting out of the program.
Version 2.0b1 is new as of 6/19/97.
The
change log
documents recent changes to MacMOOSE.
A NOTE ABOUT VERSION 2: Version 2 of MacMOOSE will give you the advanced editing features of MacMOOSE only on MOOs which have installed
$MacMOOSE_utils.
If you just want to connect to MOOs
without MacMOOSE_utils installed
and not MOOSE Crossing, you may want to
use the older version, MacMOOSE
1.0b1. This version will not work with MOOSE Crossing. Please don't
send us bug reports about version 1.0b1. If you have
problems, please switch to the current version.
Public MOOs that currently support MacMOOSE's advanced editing features include:
-
ATHEMOO, moo.hawaii.edu 9999
- FooMoo, allinux.idea-inc.com 4242
- HiJinxMOO, voyager.hijinx.com 8888
- Lingua MOO, lingua.utdallas.edu 8888
-

Bug Reports
Please report bugs to: bug-macmoose@cc.gatech.edu
Bug reports should contain:
- Exactly what happened, as clearly as you can describe it.
- What version of MacMOOSE you're using.
- What type of Macintosh you're using.
- What version of the Mac Operating System you're using.
- What type of connection you have (ethernet, ppp, etc), and what version of your connection software you're using.
- Whether the bug is repeatable. (Can you make it happen again?)
If your error throws you into the Macintosh debugger, it would be nice if you sent us the contents of the stack. Type "log ", and then "sc6". If that doesn't work, try "sc7". Include that file in your bug report.
Thanks. Your bug reports help us make MacMOOSE better.
This program does not use the date in any way, and hence is Y2K compliant.
