Connecting to MediaMOO
MediaMOO moved to Georgia Tech a while back, the new address is:
The old address should continue to work, but you are advised to
use the new address is possible.
To connect to MediaMOO:
- You can try this
link
(doesn't work on all computers)
- From a UNIX host, type the following in a terminal window:
telnet mediamoo.cc.gatech.edu 8888
From a VMS host, type:
telnet mediamoo.cc.gatech.edu /port=8888
From a Windows 9x/NT machine, go to the "Start" button, select "Run..." and type:
telnet mediamoo.cc.gatech.edu 8888
Note that the port number (the 8888 part) is critical to connecting.
Once you are connected to the server, follow the on-screen instructions
to connect.
Client Programs
Client programs are designed to make your life easier by formatting
the MOO output, providing you with an editor window and a host of
other useful features. Once you use a client program, you will never
go back to raw telnet again!
Yahoo! keeps a list of available client programs for a variety of platforms.
