Virtual Class: on 3-11 we’ll have class in an IRC chat room.
1) Get a client if you do not have one: Several free clients are available (for example, Colloquy on the mac).
2) Join the channel at 3:00 on Tuesday Mar 11: You should launch your client and connect to “irc.efnet.net” and look for the channel “gt-hri-cs8803” Note, this channel will not exist if you log in too early, but starting at 3pm you should be able to find it on the efnet.
3) Discussion protocol: We should be able to hold the discussion in an ad-hoc way as we do in class. So, I will pose questions and topics for the discussion. If it becomes necessary we will implement a “hand raising” policy. If you have something to add to the discussion or something to say on the current topic then simply type an asterisk “*” and then I’ll call on people so that everyone has a chance to speak. But initially, people should just jump in and discuss, and we’ll see how that goes.
